Archiact Brings Virtual Reality To New Markets with 5G Cloud Gaming

It's no secret that the advent of 5G will have a huge impact on cloud gaming, even more so for bandwidth-intensive VR games. That's why we're so excited to reveal our latest news! Thanks to our major partnership with Migu, a subsidiary of telecom giant China Mobile, Archiact's games are about to be the first VR titles to be playable via their 5G cloud gaming platform, called Migu Quick Gaming.

Why is 5G so important? Well, under previous mobile standards such as 4G (LTE), streaming of VR content remained an impossibility due to issues with latency and bandwidth. Once the 5G standard hits, it will mean near-instant response time and unprecedented bandwidth increases, thus allowing mobile users to enjoy high quality VR game content with greatly reduced hardware limitations. By partnering with Migu, we can work together to build the future of 5G VR cloud gaming, thus making VR even more accessible.

Our partnership was officially announced on May 17th, 2020 at the all-virtual 5th Global Virtual Reality Conference by our founder and CEO, Frank Shen, and Xin Liu, CEO of Migu. Check out the screenshots featuring their avatars signing the agreement in VR!

This new relationship with Migu has two angles that we're excited about: not only will it bring existing Archiact games to Migu Quick Gaming, it also empowers our expert team to publish the original content of other developers to the rapidly growing platform. We want to help amazing VR/AR developers in North America and Europe bring their best gaming content to their biggest market yet!

Just how big? China Mobile serves over 946 million customers in China, which means that they, Migu, and Archiact are now poised to bring VR cloud gaming to one of the largest markets in the world.

“Widespread distribution of 5G networks and cloud gaming will usher in a new era of unparalleled access to virtual reality,” our founder and CEO Frank said of the momentous advancement. “Archiact is proud to join Migu and China Mobile at the forefront of this era, and take the first exciting steps into VR streaming with our titles FREEDIVER: Triton Down and Evasion.”

Are you a developer interested in bringing your own content to the Migu Quick Gaming platform? We'd love to meet you!
